To be honest it's somewhat unlikely that Powergirl will ever make a live action appearance in any DC movie or TV show, maybe the characters costume just seems to bother certain people, or someone feels she's just too similar to Supergirl. Whatever the case it's a pity since DC's premiere tsundere and cat owner would lend herself to a witty and fun action script... oh wait.. that might explain things given the general tone of DC movies

I think the misogynistic part is right for the most part except for when it comes to treating women like their sex objects, that's feminists they have an issue with female superheroes looking overly attractive thinking it's purely for the male gaze, though I won't lie supergirls actress in the flash was not a bad choice both costume and physical appearance because damn was she genuinely gorgeous and as for misogynists pretty sure it's less not wanting a superheroine that's attractive and more not wanting a woman that's actually strong and powerful on her own without the help from some kind of male mentor or love intreast they can project onto. though that doesn't really excuse just purely bad writing for shows like she-hulk or the Captain Marvel movie, especially when, while yeah, it's kinda bad but supergirl did a way better job writing a female superhero than the other two and this is less superhero and more general women protagonists. Ridley for alien, lara croft from Tomb Raider mostly, michonne and Clementine from Walking Dead, ellie from TLOU, katniss from the hunger games etc.
