Captain Atom and Powergirl - Don't i know you ?

In the New 52 version of the DC Universe, a new Captain Atom bumps into Powergirl, perhaps its due to both having experienced dimension travel of some sort, but both could swear that they had met before....


If there was anything from the old DC Universe i would bring back, it would be the remarkably solid ( and possibly unintended by some writers ) friendship these two had.

I've altered the Captain's New 52 design so he doesn't look quite like Dr Manhattan ( i might just use this look for an original character when i get around to doing some original superhero artwork ) but still looks like he is made of energy without his traditional old Universe metal skin. Powergirls second New 52 outfit is closer to her old Universe design, so i didn't try to make any alterations. If they can get her personality, cat, and old universe friendships back next ( specifically with Atlee and Captain Atom ), that would be also welcome.
