Superman

No trying to be amusing with this picture, just a picture of DC's flagship hero and a quote i rather liked ( i've probably mis quoted it ) from Supermans 1986/87 reboot by John Byrne, that by and large is still the best and most influential take on the Man of Steel, thanks to it empathising that Clark Kent was who the character really was and 'Superman' was just a disguise, a symbol to rally and inspire people.

Having an occasional look at the New 52 Superman comics, i kind of struggle to see how the current New 52 incarnation ever managed to inspire anyone in the New 52 DC universe, being at times intimidating, curiously arrogant, and due to his recent lower power levels a physically threatening bruiser. It is a little hard to square this with a character who previously would often try to appeal to peoples better natures and whose presence actually reassured people that things would work out ( you know, the whole 'hope' thing ).
