Powergirl : Quantum Quest (25) Lobo Vs Monarch

During Powergirl's vacation Lobo had continued the search with remarkable speed. Having handled the Dilustel shard he could sense the source like a beacon, at various times its strength flared to his senses, making tracking it effortless. It led him straight into a warzone on what was a formerly independent planet.

Darkseids open warfare irritated Lobo, since it had started Apokalips had ceased using his services as an assassin, as had other sources of income from the regimes that served or were allied to Darkseid.

And the Green Lantern corps and the New Gods never seemed to seek his services, Lobo felt they took his previous actions against them too personally, when really it was simply professionalism, simply business.

As he landed his space cycle he noted that he had caught the attention of a large group of the lower grade intellect parademons, the brighter ones would recognise him and avoid him, still while this job wasn't paying him to kill anyone, they were about to get in his way, Lobo grinned at the small army hurtling towards him.

Monarch was suprised when it was reported an entire division of parademons had been slaughtered by one of the planets defenders in hand to hand combat. Guilotina had offered to investigate but Monarch felt curious about this being, he instructed the female furies to take the lead while he personally dealt with this individual.

He found him amidst a burning heap of parademon bodies, barely marked, and about to light a cigar,

"Lobo", Monarch had never met him, but this chalk white creature, so insanely calm and relaxed amidst the carnage, could be no one else.

"And you're the guy Power peach is pining for eh ? i was expecting someone dressed like a dweeb, probably with a cape" Monarch stood still trying to process the babble or his words, 'Power peach' ?

"Anyhow because she has such a sweet set, and is buddies with my fish, i kinda feel obliged to ignore what she asked and just bring you back with me"

Monarchs strides took him to Lobo, his armoured form towering over the lout that stood before him,

"And how, pray tell, will you achieve this ?" His hands began to glow with energy.

Lobo shook his head, "I'm Lobo, she paid me and i'm gonna bring you back. I mean she only wanted me to send her a message about where you are, but i figured, what the hell".

As he caught sight of the energy buildup, "You want to fight me? seriously ? what, do you owe her money, or did you knock her up and bail on her ? Fine she wanted you alive, but i'm sure she can make do with you not having your legs you fragging chump".....





While Powergirl is dealing with Vartox, Lobo has found what he believes Powergirl is looking for, the source of the Quantum energy in the form of Darkseid's new Warmaster. Round one...fight! Finally those black shapes that follow Monarch are taking more shape, as they are meant to be large grav-tanks. I'll be going back to Powergirl, Vartox and Maxima in the next picture.
