Kara's blow was more restrained than expected but the blow still hit with enough force to shatter Starro into icy powder. Nathaniel was carried by the force of the blow a comparatively short distance before he lay unconscious in the ground, the controlling tentacle that linked his body to Starro had fallen away from his mouth.
No doubt some of her fellows would have qualms about taking the life of Starro, but she weighed It's existence as she would any hostile animal threatening a loved one. In any case, she wasn't certain this was even the original Starro, a nagging feeling lurked that this was another of his blasted duplicates.
Concerned for Nathaniel's well being, Kara was quick to move to his side, his injuries from their combat looked minor but he seemed worryingly quiet. She knew better than to think that he might be seriously injured, she had seen him survive worse time and again. Though he might be in a bit of pain when he came round. She moved to lift him, and beamed when his eyes opened.
" I take it from the fact i can talk again that you beat him? " Nathaniels voice sounded tired, worn out from his mental fight against Starro's control, and his physical fight with Powergirl.
" I told him he'd lose, you know, i'm damned tired of being used like some puppet "
" Shh, lets go Home before Atlee brings the whole Justice League to help " Kara replied, gently lifting Nathaniel into the air.
" I doubt i could live this down " he felt embarrassed at being carried in this way, but his limbs felt damned heavy.
" What ? the big male hero being saved by little old me after he had played tonsil hockey with an alien squid ? " Kara inquired playfully.
The conversation was broken by the joyous call of " KARA! " as Atlee and surprisingly Maxima, approached.
Nathaniel managed to force his palm to his face, and yet he had to admit a little embarrassment was probably worth the price of being freed from Starro. Especially before he had done any real harm.
