Description
The young Powerboy takes his first flight and doesn't notice his cape came off... A vague redesign of Powerboy and a homage of sorts to one of the best Powergirl pictures by cover artist Adam Hughes.
My third picture based on the DC character 'Power Boy', and my least accurate to the comics, but also in my opinion my best take on him ( besides, of all of DC's characters, Power Boy is one who could be completely rebooted and changed with minimal fuss, what there was of the character was fairly thin, since he existed barely 2 years before being killed off ).
Noticeably i've altered his build, being still muscular but less heavy looking and smaller, closer to a young teenager rather than an adult ( allegedly he is meant to be 15 after all ), and I've given him a wider eyed look. Also he has a symbol.
Background ( not remotely cannon, simply a bit of fun ) - Cameron Starr, son of Karen Starr/Power Girl and Nathaniel Adam/Captain Atom, and a kryptonian/human hybrid whose physiology is fueled by an inherited link to the limitless power of the Quantum field.
Gentle natured, shy and reticent, he rarely acts impulsively, wanting only to help ( I'm borrowing a lot from the Teen Gohan personality from Dragonball Z, because the character type seems kind of rare in DC right now, and I've been watching Dragonball Z again
).
In spite of this, due to his genetic heritage and link to the Quantum field, he potentially wields more destructive power than the Justice League, the Teen Titans, and the Justice Society combined, and lacks the need of solar energy to power his abilities. In addition he is able to absorb energy and radiation, which means he also lacks the pure blood Kryptonian weakness to Kryptonite and red sun radiation.
In his base state he is a slender youngster with brown hair ( after his father ), which turns increasingly blonde ( like his mothers ) when he exerts himself to power his abilities and increases his musculature. His abilities include energy manipulation/projection and absorption, strength and speed that is below the Kryptonian standard but can be dramatically pushed beyond it by concentration, and a high durability that is below Kryptonian levels and can not be increased.
